My summary for Perugia is:
- up high - so lots of walking on cobbled streets and steps;
- very old buildings including church / Cathedral ("Amazing", I hear every one exclaim);
- a fortress that is very, very impressive;
- the main street was taken over by the European chocolate festival during our visit - not a big deal really to us, and
- we found another fantastic place to eat a fantastic meal / lunch but we had to hurry to join up with the tour group all too soon.
Not sure if this white vehicle would be regarded as a large / double bike or a tiny car
Inside the fortress
The fountain that is regarded as very special to Perugia.
Then you turn a corner and you find a public water tap.....so beautiful. You just want to keep on wandering and discovering.......
Then we turned another corner and chanced upon our lovely restaurant of the day. This was the "ceiling" of the restaurant because it so happened it was part of a wing of the Cathedral.
And guess what? This is the only, only part of the Cathedral/ church that we stepped into in Perugia!!
Jonathan had spelt gnocchi with wild boar ragu. Of course, we had to have another jug of house red - just a little jug this time and lots of water. The staff were lovely - and another place with loads of Trip Advisor awards.
Here's to J and J!
