Other wonderful Paris

IYou really can go anywhere in Paris providing you have a Metro ticket ( or 10 or however many you need).  I was such a scaredy cat before we came to Europe the first time as I thought We wouldn't be able to manage the Metro.  Thankfully our resident London guide ( Emma) showed us the way and J showed his British upbringing at being a dab hand at checking the Metro map, working out where to switch from one line to another and success has bred confidence - sometimes super confidence.
The cross from one line to another is usually a short hop step and jump but on this occasion, it took 4 minutes ( according to the sign) to walk to the other line.  Generally trains arrive at each platform every 3 minutes without fail.

Sometimes you see some odd people.  You wonder what sort of families they come from!

Music Museum in Paris - out in woop woop.
We went way way out on some Metro line so J could see Django's guitar but it had been moved to some other location. We had a glimpse of a very different Paris out here in the 'burbs.

They still have Lions.  Go the Lions!

They like to make music fun and interesting for children. ( They probably don't hit them on the knuckles as they attempt to play an instrument!)

I liked all these harps lined up with the pianos in the background but I can't say music is my thing. Damaged by nuns or lack of ability or interest or something.
Django's  plaque
Another place way, way out - as a matter of fact at the end of a Metro line where there were some very shady people trying to sell Metro tickets in front of the official Metro office.  No intervention at all.  One older man in robes clearly had some skimming device as after someone used a legit ticket, he casually went up and swiped something over the scanner and turned backed again.  No worries!

Anyway, one of the J's ( not me) was overjoyed at seeing this place. Because we love him, we were happy he was happy - but I hope we're not going for an encore!

Near here I saw a shop selling luggage

For those who don't know, I call my phone, iPad "NotYours" so rather than a hotspot showing say, "Julie's iPad" it shows up as "NotYoursiP".  I guess I must have had some affinity with the place after all.

Chocolate Exhibition

No this wasn't just any sort of exhibition.

It was another long Metro journey but how many times have you seen models wearing chocolate designs?  Really there was so much chocolate there I thought I'd be turned off chocolate ( for an hour or so).

Jeu de Paume

I wanted to go here to see a photographic exhibition. I liked it.  When Gary Winogrand died  ( 1988 I think) he left 6,600 rolls of film that had not been processed.  He was a photo journalist and that's the sort of photography I prefer ie unstated.
I didn't pre book the tickets so we had to line up for about 45mins to an hour but I ( and dear Jonathan said he didn't) mind as it was in a beautiful spot and we could snap away and just quietly observe......
What a truly remarkable place and way to linger.  I will treasure this "waiting in line" for many, many years.

The Lions have it you know

Other minor things were "around"

The waiting crowd

Louvre

The Louvre is of course such a beautiful place - inside and out.  Some would say that I particularly like it because right outside the entry is an Apple shop and if you position things "just right" you can get the Apple logo with one of the Louvre pyramids.  Even more pathetic, an Apple tragic could ( and did ) buy their new iPad at this Apple shop.

There are however, a few "odds and ends" in the Louvre.  My knees didn't hold out for too long I'm afraid

Lions again!

You always have to look up as well as to the sides

Outside

And because the old knees couldn't take any more, we had to leave

Such a beautiful place -  and I'd say that even if there wasn't an Apple Store.
