Best things about Barcelona

 We love Barcelona!

General Gothic area

The more we see, the more we find we have yet to see. I think it is truely our favourite spot.  It is also a place we have explored on our own and not as part of an organised tour group.

Trip Advisor, subscribing to enews for selected sites, trying four different walking tour groups,
Barcelona tourist information services, web sites of actual venues ( rather than third parties), using the metro/ public transport have all helped to provide us with a variety of experiences that have all been first rate.

Our favourites would have to be the El Born Picasso, Gothic areas and the innovative and unpredictable Gaudi - and the wonderful people of course.
Picasso building area

Roman city remains discovered recently when a library was about to be built.

The name of "our" local tube station in Barcelona ( that J can pronounce and loves to say and say and say)

Just one of the many churches ( our mob, not that Anglican lot).  There appears to be one every few streets in the Gothic area.  We viewed most - including the massive cathedral - from the outside only.

The foyer of "our" ( and K&P's) Barcelona 2 star boutique hotel Hotel Constanza, that we love.

Lastly, seeing the beautiful buildings including Gaudi's influence on the city,  is inspiring and fascinating.  I feel very, very fortunate to have had the chance to see so much.
