Malmö and "The Bridge"
We watch a lot of Danish/ Swedish TV on SBS and Foxtel. As well as The Bridge, Borgen, The Killing, The Legacy, Lulu the bank robber, are a few that spring to mind. With this in mind, there was no way that we could be so close to Malmö on our trip and not go on a day trip to Copenhagen so that we could cross over The Bridge back to Sweden and see the bridge itself and Malmö.
Apart from the early morning start, the main things about the day were:
- arriving at the Stockholm Metro before it opened at 4.30am
- having a couple of rides on the very fast Arlanda express to /from Stockholm airport
- flying return Copenhagen by the wonderful Norwegian air - free internet, excellent service
- going over and back to Malmö on the bridge - not by bus as we intended but by train and then exploring part of Malmö by bus and walking ( to get a better view of The Bridge)
- seeing a little of Copenhagen by using the public transport and walking; and
- arriving back in Stockholm late at night and not dying of exhaustion.
Few people around
On the very fast train to Stockholm airport from Stockholm City - speed 205 km/ h
Not too many people at Copenhagen Metro when we arrived.
A running mother with her all weather pram - and perhaps a baby inside....
You could hear the wind whistling when you were near the water and it was a bit cool
The Bridge......
There were other parts of Malmö......
Copenhagen had some lovely places to see but we ran out of time - and light!
It was a fun day!
