Public transport Stockholm

High speed train - Stockholm airport to city

We love the very fast trains you get in Europe.  The Stockholm Arlanda express train goes every 10 mins to and from the city to the airport and reaches speeds in excess of 200 klms/h.  It shaves the 45 mins bus trip down to 20 mins and offers free wifi, power charge outlets in very seat and easy access to your luggage for getting on and off the train.

Metro tickets Stockholm
Rather strange way of buying tickets in Stockholm.  We prefer to use a travel debit card when possible rather than using cash and this is particularly  so when you go to somewhere like Sweden where you have to use their local currency rather than Euros.   Unlike other countries however, you can only buy one train ticket at a time ( at a ticket machine) and the ticket has to be used within 75 mins of purchase.

Copenhagen- Malmö
As an exception to the Stockholm position, when we were in Copenhagen (Denmark) and wanted to go to Malmö (Sweden) and back, with trips around both Malmö and Copenhagen, we were able to get a "ticket for 2" valid for all day at both places. Hooray for customer service at Copenhagen Metro!
